A dog named Ulysse got lost in England, but after 12 days, people found him using a special camera on a flying robot. The camera could see Ulysse’s body heat, and he looked like a white spot on the video. The flying robot followed him to a bush where he was hiding. The dog’s owner, Sam Boyle, is now trying to get money to help the group that found Ulysse buy another flying robot.

The flying robots with special cameras are really good at finding lost pets. The camera made it easy to see Ulysse and find out where he was. He was in a bush for a long time. Sam Boyle, Ulysse’s owner, wants to help the group that found his dog by getting them another flying robot to find more lost pets.

Ulysse’s story shows that new technology, like flying robots with heat cameras, is important for finding pets that are lost. The camera helped people see where Ulysse was because of the heat from his body. Sam Boyle wants more people to use flying robots to save animals. Ulysse getting back home shows that technology can help bring pets back to their families.

Give each group a set of vocabulary words related to the article, such as “dog,” “lost,” “camera,” “robot,” “find,” etc. One student from each group will act out a word without speaking, while the other group members guess what word they are acting out. One student will choose a word and draw a picture to represent it, while the other student tries to guess the word. They can take turns drawing and guessing, trying to get as many correct answers as possible within a time limit.

– Speed Summarizing
Instructions: Give each student a copy of the article. Set a timer for one minute. The students should read the article silently and then, when the timer starts, try to summarize the main points as quickly as possible. After one minute, they can compare their summaries with a partner and discuss any differences. Then, set the timer for another minute and have them try to improve their summaries.
